Billions of Years in the Making
Lasers and smoke machines? Child’s play! This week-long festival is going to have the ultimate special effect: a total solar eclipse not seen in the contiguous U.S. since 1979.
Stop the World and Melt With You
Not only is GEG celebrating a rare celestial event, it’s also an incredible display of unity amongst the world’s festival family and an example of cross-cultural collaboration when we need it most.
Getting There
The gathering will go down at the Ochoco National Forest at Big Summit Prairie, Oregon, a private ranch of over 55,000 acres featuring flat campgrounds, forested areas and a 52-acre lake that’s sure host some art boats. The nearest neighbors are 16 miles away so it’s gonna be bumpin’.
If you plan to drive in, you must purchase a Vehicle Pass with the exceptions of bicycles and motorcycles. Bus passes will also be available for purchase from Portland, Bend, and Redmond airports multiple times per day. Reserve your passes early, as all things are limited.
Camping and Glamping
Camping is first-come, first-served and generally self-directed. There will be wide open stretches of campground, plus many “Ready Set Camp” options. Browse those setups here, though note that some have already filled up.
