Pitch a tent
Join 45,000 of your fellow Pinkpop Festival-goers in the grassy fields abutting the music venue. When you return at night and forget where you set up camp amid the guitar-strumming, beer-drinking tentsters, know that this is a Pinkpop rite of passage.
Eat like a local
You'll need to keep up your energy to pogo through the day's concerts and party into the night. The abundant food stalls can help. Try Dutch specialties such as kroketten (breaded, deep-fried dough balls stuffed with meat or veggies), pofferties (mini, powdered-sugar-dusted pancakes), kaasfondue (gooey cheese) and frites (French fries smothered in mayonnaise or other gloppy sauces).
Wear something pink
Get in the spirit and don pink-dyed hair, pink sunglasses or a pink cap. All the kids are doing it.
