Camping
All GA tickets include tent camping! You also get to park in the free parking lot. If you prefer vehicle camping, there are two camp zones to do so: Sunshine and Starlight. You have to pay extra to upgrade to vehicle camping.
The ShambhaBlog is a great source of info in the month before the festival
This popular blog on the festival website is a great place to learn about how to maximize your fun and minimize your pain at Shambhala.
Try an alcohol-free festival
Shambhala has a long list of banned items including fire, glass, illegal substances, and, unusually, alcohol. The choice was made by the family to create a safer, more relaxed vibe by continuing this policy. So, if alcohol is a required part of your experience, this isn’t your festival.
If you want to get a flavor of Shambhala, seek out the DVD
It shows a 10-year history of the festival. See the trailer here.
Take advantage of beautiful British Columbia
This festival is located in some of the most luscious forest land on the North American continent. Since you’ll already have your camping gear with you, spend a few extra days exploring the wilderness.
