Don’t forget your glitter!
Pack the pragmatics—wellies and flashlights—but don’t forget the fun stuff. This is definitely a festival where you will reap more fun with a well-assembled costume. What have you always wanted to be when you grow up? A sex kitten? A monk? A unicorn? Now’s your chance.
Get involved
If you want to showcase your skill set with a workshop, performance, or art installation—or if you simply want to volunteer--the festival accepts applications through its website.
Bring your kids
There is a strong bring-the-whole-family vibe at this festival. The kid’s activities are not just distractions to keep them out of everyone’s hair, but rather thoughtful and edifying pursuits: storytelling, pizza-making, newspaper production, building eco-dens, and bug walks in the forest.
Plan ahead
The Wilderness spa (with wood-fired hot tubs!) and banquets are hugely popular, but cost extra and require advance reservations. The meals are highly social events held at long banquet tables, so reserve your spot and sit next to someone new.
Getting There
Wilderness Festival is about 70 miles out of central London. The nearest train station is Charlbury, which is easily reached from London and Oxford and will have shuttle buses to the festival.
