Snagging Tickets
Like a celebrity power couple's newborn, Yemaya Festival has rapidly garnered worldwide attention. Of course, that great deal of demand spawned multiple ticket levels. Starting from "Super Early Bird" all the way to "Gate Entry" on the day-of, you can purchase your tickets directly from the festival's website. As the festival approaches, the ticket prices increase. With eight different levels to consider, your best bet is to secure tickets at the earliest release dates possible when they're at their cheapest. No worries, though, because you'll have plenty of opportunities to snag a ticket.
You're Going to Australia, Mate
Yemaya Festival is held in Fernihurst, Victoria, about 225 kilometers Northwest of Melbourne. Melbourne is served by the Melbourne Airport (a.k.a. the Tullamarine Airport), Australia's second busiest airport. If you rent a car at the airport, the festival is a simple drive on M79. You can also take a taxi, but guests are encouraged to carpool together to limit environmental impact. Dozens of people sign up for carpooling service through Ridevu, Uber and Facebook, for example.
Lodging
There are plenty of budget-friendly hotels in Fernihurst that are a short distance from the festival. If you'd rather stick with nature, some locals have campsites, homesteads and cabins available for guests. You might even be lucky enough to spend a night camping out alongside the Loddon River. Search AirBnB if that scenario is more to your liking.
Yemaya's Gift to You
There's an abundance of goodies available to purchase at The Grand Bazaar. It's packed with alluring handmade items including clothing, crafts, jewelry and other hypnotic items. It's also loaded with your favorite snacking preferences such as pizza, veggie burgers, nachos and coffee. A good mother always makes sure her children are well-nourished.
Speaking of Nourishment
With as little waste as possible, the Cellar Door is prepared to quench your thirst with an assortment of specialty drinks while you're here. When your body needs a minute to recuperate from the festivities, you can sip from tapped beverages, creatively mixed cocktails and all sorts of delicious combinations. Drinks are made with organic ingredients when possible.
It's a Family Effort
The festival simply doesn't work if you're a braindead individual who collects dust like an old book. Throw yourself into the mix in any way that you can. You'll be welcomed with open arms even if you dance like a prepubescent freshman with gangly limbs. Treat everyone like family, participate in their shenanigans and you'll see first-hand what awesome things can transpire.
